A loving family man with a terrific sense of fun – this is how I will remember Michael. Professionally I found him to be kind, compassionate and intensely loyal to all those who worked for him – always taking full responsibility for his own actions and those of his staff. He was much loved by so many of ‘his people’ at Premier and will be fondly remembered for many years to come. As for me, I feel privileged in my life to have known him, worked closely with him and to be numbered among his friends.

Who will ever forget Mike's infectious laugh. I for one never will. Mike, thank you so much for being a wonderful brother

Our family parties will never be the same without Mike. How i will miss him, even his teasing !Annie tells me Mikes first words were " excuse me " she remembered so clearly. But this awful disease has excused a lovely warm hearted person far to early, Mary xx

The best people always seem to be taken too soon, and Michael was no exception. An adorable man, with a twinkly smile, wonderful sense of humour and a kindly nature - a true gentleman in every sense of the word. I worked for Michael for about 2 years and we had some brilliant times. I shall miss him terribly but am very grateful to have known him and had him as my friend.

He was truly a great man in business and in his family life.Always had a kind word,always cheerful and it was the combination of those qualities with many others that he possessed that enabled him,with the loving support of his family, to cope with his dreadful illness.An example to so many and will be missed by so many.I certainly include myself in that. So many great memories of a man who started as my boss and soon became a very good friend. Always a twinkle in his eye and soft hearted too, but with a steely determination combined with an uncanny ability to laugh with others, sometimes about himself but never at anyone else's expense. I miss him dreadfully already. And Jill and the boys. So strong and positive during the last 21 months since Michael was diagnosed and everyone had to come to terms with the awful prognosis. I am sure I am not the only one to feel so proud (and, indeed, privileged) to have known him and his great family and to have shared so many good times, the memories of which will stay with me forever.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
